![]() Philip ThorbyPhilip Thorby is well known as one of the country’s
leading performers and teachers in the field of Renaissance and Baroque
music. He founded and directed the ensemble “Musica Antiqua of London”
which was at the forefront of research-based performance of renaissance
music, a passion he is now exploring further with “Intrepid Academy”. He
is Emeritus Fellow in Early Music at Trinity Laban Conservatoire,

The course is aimed at advanced players who would like to learn about playing music from facsimile and only a limited prior knowledge of facsimile is necessary. For light relief, there will also be some playing sessions using conventional notation!
The course will start at 4.00pm on Tuesday 20th and will finish with lunch on Saturday 24th February. Off road car parking is available from Tuesday morning if you want to arrive early and explore Lyme.
Prices are as follows:
Single occupancy £485
2 players, sharing £380 each
Couple sharing, one playing £630
A £90 deposit is required per person on booking, with the balance to be paid at least one month before the course.
