![]() Tom BeetsTom was born in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium, in 1983 and has been an enthusiastic recorder player from an early age. He studied at the Lemmensinstitute in Leuven (Belgium) with Bart Spanhove and Bart Coen and then the Escola Superior de Musica de Catalunya (Spain) with Pedro Memelsdorff.Apart from the usual baroque repertoire his interest lies in music history and medieval music performance. He has travelled across Europe and performed, both solo and with various ensembles. Tom has taken many masterclasses, in particular with Kees Boeke, Fumiharu Yoshimine, Marion Verbruggen and Andrew-Lawrence King. From 2007 until 2018 he toured the world with the Flanders Recorder Quartet.

This is a unique opportunity to learn from two teachers with very different backgrounds but who each have such a lot to offer in terms of technique, music making and having fun!
The course is designed for players who can play all sizes of recorder, from descant to bass, and willing to try great bass and contra (which can be borrowed) and can sight read well, even one to a part. You will be playing a mixture of music from all eras. The objective is to have fun exploring a variety of music in a friendly atmosphere.
The timetable is flexible and will vary according to the needs and wishes of those attending. The course will start at 11.30am on the Thursday and will finish with lunch on the Sunday. The early part of each afternoon is free for relaxation, exploring Lyme Regis or informal recorder playing.

Single occupancy £545
2 players, sharing £440 each
Couple sharing, one playing £710
Please note: If Covid rules limit the number of players, or require additional costs such as deep cleaning, we may have to charge an additional levy of £10 per person.
